DECEMBER 2006 After long last, we're back, at least for a short while! To be honest, there is not much new to report since the last post. We still haven't signed the new deal, mainly for reasons of us all being in the midst of completing work on several upcoming releases with other assignments. We therefore feel we need to take some more time off from Unmoored, before we can fully concentrate on the band again, continuing work on the new album. So far only bits and pieces have been written, so we still have a long way to go. In the meantime, we suggest you check out some of the other, more active bands, that we're in (for more info, check out "members" or "links"). More news as it happens! JUNE 2005 At the moment we're in the midst of changing label, after deciding to leave Code666 some time ago. As soon as the new deal has been sealed in blood, we'll start focusing on the fourth Unmoored album, for real. As goes for the website, the "Related Bands"-section has been updated, where you now can read about Scar Symmetry (www.scarsymmetry.com) signing a world-wide record deal with the mighty Nuclear Blast, the recording of the new Torchbearer album (www.torchbearer.tk) and the release of the debut-demo with Quest Of Aidance (www.questofaidance.tk), among other things. More news as it happens! FEBRUARY 2005 After several months of hard work with other assignments, such as the completion of the debut album with Scar Symmetry, the completion of the debut-demo with Quest Of Aidance and the final preparations for the forthcoming recording of the second album with Torchbearer, we're soon ready to resume our work with Unmoored again, so beware! In the meantime you can now find to new songs off our latest album, "Indefinite Soul-Extension", in the sounds-section. Enjoy! More news as it happens! JULY 2004 An interview was recently done with Sweden Rock Magazine, so be sure to keep an eye open for that one! Also, the "Related Bands"-section have been updated, as well as the "members"-section, in which you now can find a brand-new heading, called "Music violating my stero at the moment". More news as it happens! MAY 2004 We're back! If you'll go to the "Misc."-section, you will now be able to find new reviews and interviews. Also, the "Members"-section and the "Related bands"-section have been slightly updated. At the moment we're looking into the possibilities of recording a new album, in the spring of 2005. We'll see what the future holds! More news as it happens! New reviews and interviews will be posted in the Misc.-section, once we're able to get hold of them. More news as it happens! JULY 2003 We've now been told that "Indefinite Soul-Extension" will be released worldwide, between the 1st and the 30th of October (the release-date will be different from country to country), but already a couple of dates have been confirmed. On the 27th of October, the album will see the light of day in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, through SPV and on the 24th of October it will hit the Italian stores, through Audioglobe. More dates will follow shortly! A new heading, called "Related Bands (News)", can now be found in the menu. Feel free to check it out! After a couple of tumultuous months in camp Unmoored, we're finally back, deadlier than ever! The site is once again up and running (a lengthy process of changing server was the reason for its recent inactivity). The latest addition to the Unmoored-family is Tomas Johansson, who has decided to re-join the band (it's great to have you back man:))! "Indefinite Soul-Extension", which is set to be released in September, will now be shipped off to the pressing plant, in order to be multiplied, in just a matter of weeks. If you wish to have a sneak preview of the new album's cover, click here! More news as it happens! APRIL 2003 The release of "Indefinite Soul-Extension" has been postponed. The album will most likely see the light of day around September. More news on this as it happens! MARCH 2003 some sad news for you out there! Tomas has decided to leave the band. Times have been really messy for us as a band lately and one sad thing have lead to another. We want to apologize to Tomas for all the tragic events that have occured over the last couple of weeks. Sometimes things just don't turn out as desired and when they don't, the consequences are not always that satisfactory, like in this case. Unfortunately this is what happens when you don't think before you act and for that, we're truly sorry! Needless to say, we wish Tomas all the best in the future and thank him for the year and a half he's been in the band. For those of you who still haven't had the opportunity to experience the astounding talent Tomas possesses, will be able to do so on "Indefinite Soul-Extension", for sure. The guitar-solos he performes on this album are simply amazing, to say the least. FEBRUARY 2003 We've now completed our work with "Indefinite Soul-Extension". It will be released in May through Code666. NOVEMBER 2002 Between the 2nd and the 7th of December, Christian will be recording the vocals for "Indefinite Soul-Extension". He'll then be heading for the Black Lounge studios, on the 8th, to record the debut album with Incapacity (http://www.incapacity.tk). Once home again, around Christmas, we will start mixing and mastering the new Unmoored album. Hopefully we'll have it done, just in time for the turn of the year. More news on this as it happens! Due to severely inflamed vocal chords, Christian has not been able to record any vocals yet, for "Indefinite Soul-Extension". This complaint is something he has been suffering from, for the last couple of months now. As soon as his throat is fully recovered and "back in business", we'll resume the vocalwork. More news on this as it happens! SEPTEMBER 2002 Some up-dates have been made in the members-section. Feel free to check them out! Ladies and gentlemen, we have something really special to offer you this time around! If you go to the sounds-section, you will now be able to find samples off all our past demo-recordings. You will also find one extremely early version of a song called "Innerman", which later was to end up on our first official demo ("Wood Chuck Tune" that is), somewhat improved though. When we recorded this version, back in late 1993, we had only existed as "Unmoored" for a couple of months. The recording, which is previously unreleased, features Christian Älvestam on vocals and lead-guitar, Tobbe Öhrling on bass, Rickard Larsson on rhythm-guitar and Marcus Engström on drums (the latter being our very first drummer, if only for a very short period of time). In fact, not even many of our closest friends have heard this version (and how fortunate that is:)). Since this is the very first Unmoored-recording - ever - please try to overlook the performances (that goes especially for the vocals, which really suck) and the production (everything was recorded live in our rehearsal-room of that time). After all, what you're about to experience is nine years old:) A couple of pictures, covering the "Indefinite Soul-Extension" rehearsals, have been added to the members-section. More pictures, covering the following Abyss-sessions, will be available shortly! We're back from the tranquil landscapes of the Abyss studios, where we've recorded the foundations of "Indefinite Soul-Extension". Things went well and we're very satisfied with the result thus far. We will begin recording vocals shortly at a local studio, which owner is no less than Tomas Johansson (the lead-guitarist that is) and hopefully, if things work out as planned, we'll have the album mixed and mastered before the end of the month. More news on this as it happens! JULY 2002 Like you've probably noticed, we've moved our website to a new adress, which reads as follows: http://www.unmoored.com. Spread the word! On August 26, we will enter the Abyss studios to record our third album (our first for Code666), with producer Tommy Tägtgren. The album will go under the name of "INDEFINITE SOUL-EXTENSION" and its full, now completed, track listing reads as follows (in no particular order): "CINDERS VEIL", "PHASE OF REVULSION", "COMMIT TO THE FIRE", "LEAVE-TAKING", "FINAL STATE PART III (POSTHUMOUS WRITINGS)", "SPIT FORTH FROM FAILURE", "MORNDRAPER" and "UNSPEAKABLE GRIEF". More news on this, as it happens! MAY 2002 Since it has been brought to our notice that the Unmoored t-shirt is out of stock, we've decided to remove the merchandise-section from the site for now! MARCH 2002 We've added a merchandise-section, to the misc.-area. Through this section you will be able to order the official Unmoored t-shirt, among other things. FEBRUARY 2002 Lately, we've had some problems with the samples in the sounds-section. They're fixed now though. Also, a picture featuring the new line-up, has been added to the site and it can be found in the main-section. The individual pictures in the members-section have been given a face-lift as well. Also, the biography has been somewhat lengthened and improved. We've scored a new deal with the Italian label Code666. A new album will be recorded in the Abyss studios, with Tommy Tägtgren as the producer, at the end of August. The album will most likely see the light of day somewhere around the turn of the year. We will also participate on a Code666-compilation cd with a song off our newly recorded "Promo 2001", called "Cinders Veil". Above us, the cd will contain lots of exclusive stuff, like previously unreleased musical-, as well as visual-material, from all bands belonging to Code666. It will be released this summer and the number of printed copies will be 10.000. More information concerning both these matters will follow. JANUARY 2002 The links-section has been given a face-lift. Feel free to check it out! NOVEMBER 2001 We have replaced the former samples and links in the "sounds" section with a couple of deadly tunes, taken off "Cimmerian" and "Kingdoms Of Greed", all in their full versions. Enjoy! SEPTEMBER 2001 We've added a couple of new reviews, along with a few new interviews, to the site. There has also been some major changes in the "members" section since Rickard and Tobbe have decided to leave the band (you can read all about it here below). Rickards successor has been found in Thomas Johansson, while we're still looking for a new bassplayer. Interested? Let us know! "Hi there, all you fans of Unmoored! After almost eight years of practising the metal of death in this band, we've decided to "throw in the towel". It has nothing to do with disparities of opinions in the band or anything like that. We're all still the best of friends. It's simply because we feel like we've taken Unmoored as far as we're able too, motivation- and participationwise that is. We won't stop dedicating our lives to metal because of this though. It's something that will be with us to the day we die, no matter what:) Anyhow, we wish the guys all the best and hope to see that all of you who have supported Unmoored in the past, one way or another, will keep on doing so in the future as well, because great metal will in all probability continue being produced by this band. This is Rickard and Tobbe signing off!" MAY 2001 A couple of links that will take you to where you can find a few songs of ours in their full versions, have been added to the "sounds" section. At long last, we've also managed to add a couple of pictures from our visit to studio Abyss, to the "members" section. APRIL 2001 Henrik Schönström is the name of our new drummer. More info about this latest addition to the Unmoored family is soon to be found in the "members" section. We've also added a couple of new reviews to the "misc." section.....enjoy! MARCH 2001 Some new stuff is to be found in the "members" section as well as in the "swedish reviews" section. Feel free to check it out! JANUARY 2001 A couple of new reviews have been added to the "Misc" section. An interview done with Serenity Magazine is also up under a new heading called "Swedish Interviews". It can be found in the "Misc." section as well. NOVEMBER 2000 The new site is up! OCTOBER 2000 "Kingdoms Of Greed" is now re-released with the new H.R Graphics-cover among other things. If you're having trouble finding it in a recordstore near you, don't hesitate ordering it from Pulverised Records. Their URL can be found under the "links" section. As goes for updating, we've finally managed to add some info to the "members" section. Feel free to check it out! We've also recently done interviews with several magazines, like "Serenity Magazine" (Sweden), "Chronicles Of Chaos" (UK), "Tragenda Webzine" (Italy), "Ancient Ceremonies" (Portugal) and "IE2K" (Brazil) to mention a few. SEPTEMBER 2000 Due to different reasons, we will be changing the cover of our new album. The current Dan Seagrave painting will be replaced with a new work of art made by Chrille Andersson of H.R Graphics. The re-release of "Kingdoms Of Greed" with the remade layout will be available shortly. JUNE 2000 The release date for "Kingdoms Of Greed" is set to July 1st 2000 |
